What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting participants to maintain safe, healthy, and independent living environments through household and yard assistance
  • Assisting participants with tasks they are unable to complete independently, while promoting dignity, choice, and empowerment
  • Supporting participants to plan, research, and access information aligned with their personal goals
  • Facilitating community participation, including social, recreational, and interest-based activities
  • Assisting participants to build and maintain relationships within their community and support networks
  • Providing transport and support to access community services, appointments, and activities where required
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and responding appropriately to challenging situations
  • Liaising professionally with other service providers, internal staff, and relevant stakeholders
  • Completing accurate and timely documentation, including daily activity notes and administrative records
  • Following organisational policies, procedures, and safety requirements in all aspects of work
  • Demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and reliability in day-to-day support tasks

About You

You are practical, adaptable, and genuinely committed to supporting people with disability to live independently and participate in their community. You remain calm under pressure and bring a respectful, person-centred approach to your work. You also bring:

  • A current Queensland Driver’s Licence (minimum 1 year driving experience)
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with compulsory third-party insurance for work use
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • A current Yellow Card
  • A current Criminal History Screening

Essential Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or equivalent qualification/industry experience
  • Relevant experience or training in disability, allied health, education, or welfare services
  • General understanding of health and safety requirements in community-based support work

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of disability support principles and individualised care approaches
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage competing tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with participants and stakeholders
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and documentation requirements accurately
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and willingness to learn new systems
  • Ability to manage challenging interactions in a calm, respectful, and professional manner
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn NDIS frameworks, guidelines, and service delivery requirements
